The Storm, The Sun, & The Moon

The moon goes through phases

As it dances with the sun and it’s rays

Some nights the moon shines bright

While other nights it tries to hide

The sun however, it always shines.

Everyday the sun brings the daylight

Then it sets every night every season

This is for a very special reason.

You see the sun wants the moon to show it’s greatness

And illuminate the night in the dark abyss

The sun chooses to wait behind the scenes

For when the moon is ready and willing to be seen

The dance between the moon and the sun

Is sometimes sad but mostly it’s a beautiful one

It’s the phase when the moon gets in a sully mood.

The moon thinks it must run from the sun and hide it’s gloom

It’s then the sun feels like a penny with no real valuable purpose

So the sun thinks it must dim for the moon and hide it’s brightness

It’s these thoughts that the moon must hide and the sun must dim

That causes the grey clouds to roll in and cry out replacing each other in succession.

One after another like a precession a dark storm is formed of clouded perception

Preventing the sight of the authentic vision

By keeping away the joyful light of the sunshine

And cleverly hiding the loving shine of the moonlight.

When you block the sun’s joy and moon’s love from self expression.

Those hidden feelings transform the storm into dangerous conditions

Leveling it up to a hurricane fueled by reckless extreme emotions

That exhaust any attempt to resist by

spiraling you into a state of hopelessness

It’s then the weight begins to weaken the levee

You become scared it wasn’t made to experience storms this hard and heavy

When the fears fail to clear any hope that remained quickly fades

Then you slip into the void of moonless nights and sunless days.

You start to believe there’s no such thing as finding true happiness

You try to take a breath as your negative thoughts become relentless

But the downpour continues on with insistent persistence

Causing a drowning feeling that pushes you further into a dark abyss

To survive you must surrender to the path of least resistance

In a desperate attempt for any sort of encouraging guidance

You look up to the heavens once more for a foolish chance

But with no surprise it was too dark and stormy to see anything clearly

Either the storm overpowered the sun or the moon was still hiding cowardly.

So now on a dark night with no moon in sight during a storm of uncertainty

Sits the frightening thought of letting go to trust the unknown of surrendering

As the fear takes a choke hold thunder roars and lightning strikes

Overwhelming waves of unpleasant feelings flood into your mind

In that moment of urgency you feel you have no other choice

But to send out the signal for emergency calling on your higher voice

You hear it say you can count on faith for your saving grace

And then right when you begin to feel that help might be on its way

The trust in the waiting becomes too hard for you to remember to breathe

So you hold your breath and brace yourself for incoming relief

It’s the moment when faith becomes lost that your consciousness drops by lack of oxygen

It results in a dizzy spin causing the vehement wheel of fate to step in

At first fate feels like death when it demolishes the walls that fall on to you.

But ever so swiftly the repressed waters are released to rush to your rescue

The flood waters pass through lifting the all the walls removing them fiercely

Finally you feel some relief as the heaviest debris is cleaned when the storm starts to leave

The storm seems to be over now but the water from the flood left a muddy ground

And the rays of the sun are still blocked by stubborn clouds still hanging around

It’s the mud making you feeling stuck and unable to make a forward move.

So solid ground can only form when the sun finds his way to shine through

But there’s a slowness in the sun’s coming out process because he is taking his time to illuminate the moon

I am willing to bet it’s when you forget about the sun while your learning to love his moon

That it’s then that the sun rays suddenly peek out from the clouds to shine on you

You feel the warmth in the moment as you take back any shown doubt

The sun may get lost for awhile but he always finds his way out

So now you understand the purpose of the storm and how to love the moon

And he reminds us to always stay grateful by creating a beautiful rainbow upon making his breakthrough.
